Jason Steele is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He was born on August 18, 1990, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. Steele started his career at Middlesbrough Football Club, where he progressed through the youth ranks and made his professional debut in 2011. He spent eight years at Middlesbrough, making over 140 appearances before moving to Sunderland in 2018.
During his time at Middlesbrough, Steele was loaned out to several clubs, including Northampton Town, Peterborough United, and Blackburn Rovers. He also represented the England Under-21 national team. Steele is known for his shot-stopping ability and distribution skills, which are crucial attributes for a modern goalkeeper.
Steele signed a two-year deal with Derby County in September 2020, where he will compete with David Marshall and Kelle Roos for the goalkeeper spot.
